Cool Country Climate

Summer officially begins in Australia on December 1st. Today in this area there has been torrential rain, hail, sleet and the temperature has not yet reached 5 degrees Celsius ( about 40 degrees Fahrenheit). The unsealed road outside my gate is once more like red porridge, the car has mud up to the door handles, the huge rainwater tank is again overflowing, the chickens look very soggy and bedraggled, and the fire is burning fiercely. You may well guess where I have spent most of the day!

it sounds just like here, but freezing cold instead of filthy hot. Im not sure what's worse. i am feeling very sorry for our chooks at the moment, and yours too now.

Our heater is roaring as well and the winter PJ's are out of storage --again.

I'm suffering from cold envy!! It was 34o here yesterday culminating in a huge thunderstorm and rain. Today the sun is making a sauna of the moisture. Whilst you huddle around your fire I'm sticking close to the air-con. And to think we live in the same country!
